New Grade for spring 2025 is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety.

Paradise Valley Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

This is the 10th consecutive “A” grade that Paradise Valley Hospital has earned in the past five years, starting in the Fall of 2020.

“We received our first ‘A’ during the height of the pandemic lockdown. You could say that that was the most meaningful ‘A’ because of the time we were in,” explains Neerav Jadeja, Paradise Valley Hospital CEO. “But every ‘A’ we’ve earned since then is a testament to our tenacity and commitment. ‘Paradise Valley Hospital’ has become synonymous for patient safety excellence.”

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Paradise Valley Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”

Earlier this year Paradise Valley Hospital received its 12th consecutive Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades, placing the hospital in the top 10% in the nation for patient safety.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.

Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
