Paradise Valley Hospital has been recognized by US News & World Report as a “high performing” hospital for the treatment of congestive heart failure 2017-2018. This is the second year in a row that Paradise Valley has been awarded this distinction.

US News evaluates performance data of nearly 5,000 hospitals across the United States in the treatment of 16 key specialties, such as congestive heart failure. Hospitals that are in the top 10% of each specialty are designated as “high performing.” Paradise Valley Hospital fits that criteria, and is now one of the only 333 “high performing” hospitals in the nation.

“Our cardiac program, from our Diagnostic Imaging Department to our Cardiac Catheterization Lab to our medical/surgical unit, is staffed by some of the best health care professionals I’ve met in my career,” states Neerav Jadeja, CEO of Paradise Valley. “We are committed to excellence and follow a coordinated system of care that improves the treatment and outcomes of our cardiac patients. Our goal is to sustain our efforts and never stop improving because it’s what our patients deserve.”

Genaro Fernandez, MD, medical chief of staff and director of cardiology services at Paradise Valley echoes Jadeja’s sentiments. “The nurses and physicians here are dedicated to the well-being of the people of this community—a community that is especially challenged for diabetes and diseases of the heart.” According to the San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, in the South Bay area of San Diego, the rate of hospitalization for coronary heart disease is 32% higher than the average for the rest of the county. The rate of hospitalization for diabetes is 50% higher than the county average.
