Dr. Harish Hosalkar, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and director of Joint Preservation and Deformity Correction at Paradise Valley Hospital, just received the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Accomplishment (AAOS) Award in February 2016.
“It is indeed an honor for me to recognize academy members like [Dr. Hosalkar] whose volunteer efforts support our patients, colleagues, the academy and the orthopedic profession,” said Dr. David Teuscher, AAOS president. “You and the other academy fellows who give of yourselves are the reason for the strength of the academy in all its endeavors.”
“It is a privilege and honor to be recognized by the academy and my peers for my work; I am humbled,” Dr. Hosalkar added.
Dr Hosalkar was recently profiled by the San Diego Union-Tribune for his volunteer and charity efforts.
Dr. Hosalkar specializes in open hip joint preservation and arthritis prevention surgery that has previously been unavailable in San Diego. He is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon who is also trained in traumatology and complex fracture care, hip and pelvis reconstruction, limb-lengthening and deformity correction, children’s orthopedic problems, tumor surgery, and neuro-muscular orthopedic surgery including management of traumatic brain injury, stroke and spasticity.
