The South Bay Rehabilitation Center (SBRC) is the only acute rehabilitation program in South Bay, which is convenient for those who live in the South County. No matter where a patient is initially hospitalized, the patient or family members can request a transfer to SBRC if that is more convenient.

The SBRC staff and specially trained medical director, called a physiatrist, treat a range of conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, hip fractures, and neurological impairments, such as multiple sclerosis, multiple traumas, amputations, orthopedic conditions, as well as many others in a comfortable, personalized setting.

The SBRC offers:

  • Inpatient acute care
  • Outpatient care and follow-up
  • Treatment in a Top 100 Hospital in the Nation (2014)
  • High-quality, personalized care
  • High rate of return to home/community
  • Physiatrist medical director to oversee care

“Our goal is to maximize the quality of life of our rehabilitation patients,” said SBRC Director Jay Flaherty. “Our compassionate staff provides a full complement of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services tailored to each patient and based on desired outcomes.”

The South Bay Rehabilitation Center, located here at Paradise Valley Hospital, accepts most private and government insurance plans. For further information or referral information, please call SBRC at (619) 470-4227 or click here.
