Paradise Valley Hospital was one of only South Bay hospital recognized as a “Top Performer” by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the nation.
Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas and Sharp Memorial Hospital in Kearny Mesa are four of the 620 hospitals in the U.S. earning the distinction of Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance.
These recognized facilities represent the top 18% of Joint Commission-accredited hospitals reporting core measure performance data for last year. The program is based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to be the best treatments for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, inpatient psychiatric services, stroke and venous thromboembolism.
In addition to being included in The Joint Commission’s “Improving America’s Hospitals” annual report, these four San Diego hospitals will recognized on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check website (www.qualitycheck.org). The Top Performer program will be featured in the October issues of The Joint Commission Perspectives and The Joint Commission: The Source.
